DUROCOMP SLC

DUROCOMP SLC is a high-quality solid lubricant compound consisting of a mixture of solid lubricants and a highly temperature-stable binder. The compound is introduced into the free bearing chamber and then thermally treated.

The hardened compound circulates with the cage and the rolling elements and releases small amounts of solid lubricant onto the functional surfaces, raceway – rolling elements (transfer lubrication with a layer thickness of approx. 1 µm). This prevents metallic contact and the bearing is lubricated. This works as a consumable lubrication as long as compound material is in contact with the sliding surfaces.

Areas of application

DUROCOMP SLC lubricated bearings are particularly suitable for high-temperature applications above 250 °C, for example for kiln car bearings and for applications with high physical requirements, for example in a vacuum or in the presence of aggressive media.

DUROCOMP SLC lubrications are primarily used for slow-running applications. The service life decreases disproportionately with increasing speed.

Practical tests are recommended to set the respective performance limits. Our application technology department will be happy to answer any questions regarding application and possible service life.

Advantages

– The large quantity of lubricant offered often results in astonishingly long operating times and enormous cost savings compared to high-temperature greases

– High and low temperatures down to minus 180 °C with almost constant friction

– Suitable up to 350 °C continuous temperature, occasional temperature exceedances do not lead to excessive oxidation (ageing) or failure of the lubrication system

– Extremely high loads, including impact loads, can be absorbed without any problems

– Extreme resistance to water and chemicals

– No condensation in the bearing due to the complete filling of the bearing with the compound

– No evaporation / dripping and very safe against outgassing (DUROCOMP SLC-V version)

Which bearings can be lubricated with DUROCOMP SLC

In principle, all bearing types can be filled that permit a corresponding geometry for filling with the pasty compound. The compound must be able to form a solid body in the bearing.

Single-row deep groove ball bearings are particularly suitable, but spherical roller bearings and other bearing types are also filled.

For larger bearings or other designs, we recommend a test filling.

Disadvantages

In addition to the technical disadvantages mentioned, DUROCOMP is very expensive. It is filled externally and takes approx. 14 weeks.

We mainly fill bearings for high-quality applications.
