have special requirements for the rolling bearings used.
- Reliable operation of the bearing over a long period of time
- Outdoor operation in all weathers
- Strongly fluctuating temperatures (day / night)
- Low temperatures at system start-up and during winter operation
- Maintenance-free (if relubrication is dangerous and cost-intensive)
- Lubricant drip protection for rope pulleys
- Environmental protection
Standard bearing
with integrated seals (2RS / 2Z / 2CS / EE / DDU / LLU) are filled with grease at the factory, usually:
- Standard grease based on mineral oil / lithium soap
- Grease filling quantity 25-30 % of the free space in the bearing
This selection is well suited for many applications, at moderate speeds and loads, for safe operation in the temperature range from approx. 40 °C to 70 °C.
If the bearings run at lower temperatures, the consistency becomes increasingly higher, the oil separation capacity of the grease deteriorates and inadequate lubrication and mixed friction occur. Many greases based on mineral oil reach the critical viscosity at an operating temperature of +5 to +10 °C.
Strongly fluctuating temperatures (day / night) cause condensation to form in the bearing. The condensate is emulsified into the lubricating grease, the lubricating effect continuously decreases, resulting in inadequate lubrication and mixed friction. The bearings fail prematurely.
Standard bearings are only suitable for outdoor applications to a limited extent or not at all!
Possible solutions
DUROLUB DL filled bearings / the optimum solution
DUROLUB, especially the DL32 variant for low-temperature applications (described below), is introduced into the entire free space of the bearing:
- Condensation formation is excluded
- DUROLUB DL cannot be washed out; unlike grease lubrication, it is not possible to mix water with DUROLUB. Even with damaged seals, DUROLUB usually continues to function without any problems.
- Safe continuous operation down to – 15 °C operating temperature with full lubrication performance, start-up temperatures down to – 50 °C are no problem. Sufficient lubrication is guaranteed in the upper range up to an operating temperature of over 80 °C.
- Optimised operating costs; lubricants that are not matched to your operating temperatures increase friction in the bearing and consume energy unnecessarily.
- Depending on the bearing design, DUROLUB contains 4-5 times as much oil as normal, grease-lubricated bearings. This is released in the correct quantity at exactly the required location and absorbed back into the polymer after standstill.
- DUROLUB lubricated bearings are therefore practically maintenance-free
- The dripping tendency, even with vertical installation, is extremely reduced
- DUROLUB is H1 certified in all versions, so even occasional, unavoidable contact with food would not be a problem
- You protect the environment, require less lubricant and continuously save money on the operation and maintenance of your systems
- Free spaces must also be filled with grease or similar
Sealed bearings with full grease filling, low-temperature grease and improved seals
We offer 2 variants here
- Refilling your favourite brand with a high-performance low-temperature grease – the basic properties of the selected brand / type are retained
- Production of a bearing with improved seals and filling with a high-performance low-temperature grease
